Dollywood has released a new video that previews its new RiverRush water coaster, which will debut at the park's Splash Country water park on May 11, 2013.
The video answers several questions about the ride, which will see riders boarding 4-person rafts before traversing a 25-foot, 45-degree first drop. RiverRush's circuit will also include three additional drops, with linear induction motors being used to propel the rafts uphill in some sections. After navigating these, guests will plunge through a series of twists and turns before emerging back onto dry land.
The new addition to Splash Country will be similar in style to the record-breaking Mammoth water coaster, which opened at Holiday World last year. Its circuit will be slightly shorter, though, reaching a total length of 1,175-feet.
Dollywood has promised to post a full "point-of-view" video of RiverRush in action on its official Facebook page on May 11, to coincide with the ride's opening day.
