Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin concept art

With the highly-anticipated roller coaster due to open in May, Alton Towers has been slowly drip-feeding more information about The Smiler to fans. The trains for the ride have now arrived on site, and images posted by the park show that the Gerstlauer-built coaster will utilise over-the-shoulder restraints rather than the lap bars seen on other recent Euro-Fighter models. Meanwhile, Universal has officially launched its new ScreenPlay mobile app, while SeaWorld Orlando is showing off more concept art for Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.

Having released several teaser shots of the the trains for its new roller coaster, The Smiler, yesterday, Alton Towers has now posted some much clearer images online.

Disney's Magic Kingdom

Jim Hill takes a look at the unexpected impact of the new interactive queues that have been introduced on many of the Magic Kingdom's rides in recent years, focusing on the recent updates to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad's waiting area. According to Hill, the updated queues may have an undesired effect - an increase in vandalism.

SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando brought its "Epic Voyage" promotional campaign for the new Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin dark ride to Jacksonville, Florida last weekend. Inside the Magic was on hand to snap a few shots of the concept art that was on show.
