Images: Aerial photos show progress on expansion of Orlando's Fun Spot America

The Fun Spot America amusement park is continuing work on its ambitious expansion plans, with new aerial photos showing several attractions taking shape.

The park on International Drive is currently installing several major rides, including a 250-foot SkyCoaster attraction and the White Lightning wooden roller coaster. A new go-karting track, Green Commander, is also visible in the shots below. Fun Spot America hopes to have all three attractions up-ad-running by June 8, in time for its 15th birthday celebrations.

Due to open later this year, White Lightning is being constructed by specialist Great Coasters International, inc. (GCII), and will be highly visible from the International Drive road that runs alongside Fun Spot America. It will feature a 2000-feet-long circuit, and a maximum height of 75-feet. At the foot of its 58-degree first drop, the ride will hit a top speed of 48 miles per hour, before racing through a series of twists and turns, including a record-breaking 90-degree banked turn.
