The Simpsons Ride

Universal Studios Florida is currently undergoing some radical changes, with the installation of a new Harry Potter-themed land, the expansion of the Simpsons area and the construction of Transformers: The Ride - 3D. Our new Universal Orlando correspondent Amy provides a photo update on progress. Meanwhile, the impressive Outlaw Run roller coaster is now open at Silver Dollar City, and Universal Studios Hollywood is rumoured to be planning its own Simpsons expansion.

Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City has opened its ambitious new wooden roller coaster for the 2013 season, Outlaw Run, with point-of-view video footage of the new ride having emerged online.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Screamscape's Lance Hart speculates that Universal Studios Hollywood will introduce a Springfield-themed area surrounding The Simpsons Ride. This would see it following in the footsteps of Universal Studios Florida, which is currently undertaking a similar project.

Disneyland has confirmed that the new Mickey and the Magical Map show will debut in the Fantasyland Theatre on May 25, 2013.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has released a new animated video which shows off the full circuit of its soon-to-reopen Iron Rattler roller coaster, which is undergoing a major overhaul.

Cedar Point

Having removed the Wildcat and Disaster Transport roller coasters to make room for the under-construction GateKeeper, Cedar Point has donated the rides' trains to the National Roller Coaster Museum.

Drayton Manor

Drayton Manor will host a new film in its 4-D theatre during the 2013 season, with A Fish Story being shown in the 152-seat venue.
