LEGOLAND Florida is set to announce details of its expansion for the 2013 season on March 19, with the new land expected to be themed around LEGO Chima.
The park has invited members of the media to a special event at the park, which will include a hard-hat tour of the expansion area and a look at concept artwork. A video released by the park last week strongly hinted that the new land will feature attractions inspired by LEGO Chima, which features animal warriors who battle to compete for a mystical energy force.
The Florida park had been expected to install a Pirates Shore land similar to the existing area at LEGOLAND California, but has since moved to deny this. A photo of a pirate flag on the construction site had revived those rumors, but the video appears to be more consistent with a LEGO Chima theme.
Both LEGOLAND Windsor and LEGOLAND California will show the 4D Legends of Chima movie this season, and the film is expected to make its way to LEGOLAND Florida, too. A Chima-themed expansion would be a natural extension of the brand in the park.
