Video: Fantasy Faire area "soft opens" at Disneyland

Fantasy Faire

Disneyland has allowed guests into its new Fantasy Faire area for the first time, as part of a "soft opening" period ahead of its official debut on March 12, 2013.

The park hosted a media preview event for Fantasy Faire on March 5, and subsequently opened it to the public. The area has replaced the former Carnation Plaza Gardens, and is centered around a mock village square. It offers guests the chance to meet-and-greet Disney princesses including Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Mulan, Belle, Pocohontas, Jasmine, Tiana and Ariel in the Royal Hall.

With no new rides forming part of Fantasy Faire, the focus is on character experiences and live shows. One Savvy Mom was on hand to capture the video of the area below:

A second video, embedded below, shows how Fantasy Faire's stage is used to tell the story of Disney's heroes and heroines, in this case Beauty and the Beast:

Fantasy Faire forms part of an expanded Fantasyland at Disneyland. In addition to the live performances during the day, it will also host music and dance shows in the evening.
