SeaWorld has released a new video offering a behind-the-scenes look at Aquatica San Diego, the new water park that is currently being installed on the former site of Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista.
The video, embedded below, is the first in a series of "webisodes" that will be released in the build-up to Aquatica San Diego's opening day in summer 2013. It introduces Flora and Fernanda, a pair of oversized Caribbean flamingos, who discuss plans for the park with Aquatica Vice President David Cromwell.
SeaWorld acquired Knott's Soak City from Cedar Fair in November, announcing plans to convert it into the third Aquatica park in the US. It will undergo extensive renovations during the off-season, in order to install some of SeaWorld's signature marine life exhibits alongside the existing Soak City water attractions.
Few details have been released of Aquatica San Diego, although it is expected to be similar in style to the original Aquatica in Orlando and Aquatica San Antonio, which opened in May 2012. Located around 20 miles from SeaWorld San Diego, it will be promoted as a companion park with combo-ticket deals.
