LEGOLAND California has confirmed that a new 4-D movie, LEGO Legends of Chima, will debut in its LEGO Show Place theater on March 7, 2013.
The 12-minute animated film will follow the adventures of a group of animal warriors in the fictional world of Chima, as they battle to compete for CHI, a mystical energy force. In addition to 3D animation, the movie will make use of physical effects including the wind, smoke and water effects typical of similar 4D experiences.
Four young animals will feature at the centre of the movie's plot, being guided by Plovar the Parrot as they join a battle between Laval the Lion Prince and Cragger the Crocodile King. After taking guests on a tour of Chima, the movie will climax with a high-speed chase in Speedorz vehicles.
Legends of Chima has already been confirmed to be on its way to LEGOLAND Windsor for the 2013 season, and is also likely to be installed at the chain's other theme parks in Florida, Germany, Denmark and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the park's first on-site hotel, the LEGOLAND Hotel, is due to open on April 5, 2013. Located close to the park's entrance, the hotel will boast 250 LEGO-themed rooms, a swimming pool and a restaurant, and will incorporate LEGO brick-style decor.
Both new additions are teased in the official video below:
LEGOLAND California is expected to announce an expansion to the Star Wars Miniland area for the 2013 season, with details set to be released in the coming weeks.
