Alton Towers has added an extra day to its Scarefest 2012 Halloween celebrations, which will now run through to November 1.
Although the full range of Scarefest attractions will be on offer on the final day, the late opening hours that are usually a feature of the events will be absent. Rather than closing at the traditional 9pm time for the Halloween events, Alton Towers will instead shut its gates on the final day at 6.30pm.
A range of free Halloween-themed attractions will be on offer alongside the usual array of rides and shows, along with two upcharge horror mazes. Tickets for the park and for the horror mazes can be pre-booked via the Alton Towers website.
Alongside the returning Terror of the Towers: What Lies Within and Carnival of Screams, the big draw at this year's Scarefest is the new The Sanctuary horror maze. The maze is hosted in the Alton Towers mansion itself, and is based around the mysterious "Ministry of Joy", which undertook experiments on humans during the early 20th century.
