Disney ice castle

This week has seen the news that Disney has something slightly different up its sleeve for 2013. With no major new attractions opening next year at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, the company has had to be creative to keep the guests rolling in.

The "Limited Time Magic" promotion will see a different themed celebration held each week at Disney's US resorts, from January onwards. The company is hoping that the changing celebrations throughout the year will encourage repeat visits from guests.

Although a complete schedule for the celebrations has not yet been revealed, Disney has whetted our appetite with a few suggestions. We can expect a "True Love" celebration during Valentine's week, an "Independence Week" around the Fourth of July, and a "Long Lost Friends Week", when lesser-known Disney characters will meet-and-greet guests.

So, the obvious question is - will it work? Can multiple celebrations make up for a lack of significant new additions? Will Disney's skill at pulling off special events help secure repeat visits throughout 2013? Or will fans delay their visits until the arrival of attractions such as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in 2014?
