Universal Studios Japan has released new images and video showing how an area of the park will be transformed into Raccoon City, as seen in the Resident Evil video games.

The New York area of the park is undergoing the transformation as part of the annual Halloween Horror Nights celebrations for 2012, and will be occupied by hordes of undead zombies. Popular human characters including Jill Valentine and Clare Redfield will also make appearances in the horror maze.

The Terminator 2: 3-D attraction building will also undergo a Resident Evil makeover, to become a more intense, indoor experience dubbed Umbrella Corporation: T-Virus escape. Both mazes have been introduced as part of a tie-up with Capcom, the creator of the Resident Evil series (which is known as BioHazard in Japan).

An official trailer for the Resident Evil attractions is embedded below, along with a number of images showing off the Raccoon City area.

To further exploit the tie-up with Capcom, Universal Studios Japan will also offer a range of special dining options during the Halloween Horror Nights events. This will include a "T-Virus Brains" pasta, and a mixed herb drink (a reference to the herbs that are used to restore life in the games).

Universal Studios Japan's Halloween Horror Nights will kick off on September 14, and will run on Fridays through Mondays until October 31.
