Thorpe Park Fright Nights entrance

Thorpe Park has extended the dates for Fright Nights 2012, as well as promising a brand new horror attraction for the annual Halloween events.

While details of the full line-up for this year's Fright Nights are yet to be revealed, the park has confirmed that they will take place on October 12-14, October 19-21 and October 26 - November 4. This appears to rule out a return for last year's Thorpe Park Blows It Up firework events, which would have been likely to take place on the November 4 weekend.

Fright Nights 2012 will be the eleventh version of the Halloween celebrations to be held at Thorpe Park. As in previous years, a range of temporary horror mazes will be on offer, with the park's major attractions remaining open until 9pm.

The location for the new horror maze has not yet been confirmed, but it is likely that it will replace one of last year's line-up. The Curse, which has been in place for several years and has received negative reviews for many of them, seems the most likely maze to be dropped. This would leave the Experiment 10, Asylum, Se7en and SAW Alive mazes, plus the new addition.

Update: Thorpe Park has confirmed that The Curse will return for Fright Nights 2012.

Theme Park Tourist will be attending the opening weekend of Fright Nights and will feature a full review on the site shortly thereafter. You can see what we thought of the last year's event in our Thorpe Park Fright Nights 2011 review.

Tickets for Fright Nights 2012 can now be purchased online from the official Thorpe Park website, with prices starting at £24.

also the website shows they have closed neptune`s beach for work on fright night.. This is the location of the curse and se7en... Apparently there has been work on the hell gate building.. Just have to wait and see...

Just asked Thorpe park on twitter and they said `yes, the curse will be taking over Neptune's beach again this year.` :D :D :D

What about Asylum?

Well spotted...the Asylum should be on the list, too (although it's not impossible that Thorpe Park will remove that, instead of The Curse...heaven forbid).

Oh I really doubt it, and really hope not. I really don't know why the curse maze got such bad reviews; I really liked it. Asylum is probably the main one, they won't remove it. Although Alton towers are opening a maze in 2012 called `the sanctuary`.... Want to know what this new attraction is! Maybe something to do with based on the new addition of roaming actors last year? Ohh please don't remove asylum, surely not
