Paultons Park has confirmed that its new attraction for the 2013 season will be a 4D cinema, although details of the content that will be shown in it are yet to be revealed.
The cinema will be located in the building that formerly housed the Romany Experience. It is likely to be similar in style to the 4D cinemas that have been installed at theme parks all over the world in recent years, boasting 3D projection technology, moving seats and special effects such as water sprays.
Drayton Manor and Flamingo Land have both opened 4D cinemas in recent years. These offer the benefit of enabling the parks to refresh their line-up every year, simply by rotating the movie that is being shown in the cinema.
Paultons Park closed the Romany Experience in 2009, promising at the time that the building would be reused for an exciting indoor attraction. The museum housed a variety of Romany caravans and related items, which were subsequently auctioned off.
Alongside the 4D cinema, Paultons Park will install a new Baby Care Centre and First Aid Centre in the building that previously hosted the Village Life Museum.
