Sea World Australia has announced that a new attraction will replace the former Bermuda Triangle ride at the park in 2013.
The park teased the planned addition via its official Facebook page, promising that "a storm is building...it's gonna be a big one". This has fueled ongoing rumours that Sea World is planning to install a Mack Water Coaster, similar in style to the Journey to Atlantis rides at the unrelated SeaWorld parks in the US.
Bermuda Triangle closed in October 2010, and was originally expected to be replaced the following year. No new rides were forthcoming, although Mack Rides revealed earlier this year that it had sold a water coaster ride to a theme park in Australia.
Costing over a million dollars to construct, Bermuda Triangle featured elaborate theming designed to take guests on an adventure through a series of mysterious volcanoes. However, several of the ride's special effects broke down during its last few years in operation.
