Busch Gardens Williamsburg has begun a soft opening period for the new Verbolten roller coaster, enabling guests to experience the ride for the first time.
Testing of Verbolten is now complete, ahead of its official opening date on May 18. The park is now opening the ride during select periods in order to enable ride operators to get up to speed ahead of its full debut. Most reports from early riders have been positive, including those on fansite BGWFans.com.
Verbolten features two launch sections, and a circuit that includes both indoor and outdoor elements as seen in the testing video above. Its plot is based around a road trip into the mysterious "Black Forest", where guests encounter a number of hazards. The new addition has replaced the former Big Bad Wolf roller coaster as the headline attraction in the Oktoberfest area of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
