Walt Disney World has released a time-lapse video showing off construction of the Finding Nemo wing of the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
The new resort will feature four wings, each based on a classic Disney animated movie. The Finding Nemo wing will be the first to open, on May 31, 2012. It will be home to the largest swimming pool ever constructed at a Disney resort, as well as large-scale models of popular characters including Nemo, Marlin, Crush and Mr. Ray.
The others wings at Disney's Art of Animation resort are all due to open in 2012. The Cars wing will debut on June 18, followed by the Lion King wing on August 10. The final section to open will be the Little Mermaid wing on September 15. Bookings can already be made for all four wings.
A total of 1,120 family suites and 864 standard hotel rooms will be on offer at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. It is designed to compete with "value" resorts such as the Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, and is reusing unfinished buildings that were originally due to form part of an expansion to Disney's Pop Century Resort.
