Three tourists have been arrested after stealing a penguin from the Sea World theme park on Australia's Gold Coast during a drunken night out.
ABC News reports that two British men and Australian man broke into the park, swimming in the dolphin enclosure before escaping with a penguin named Dirk.
On waking up and discovering the penguin, the men released it into a canal that is known to be occupied by sharks. Dirk escaped the water, and was chased by a dog before being rescued by concerned onlookers and returned to the park.
The men were arrested after boasting about their night out on Facebook, and will face charges of theft, trespassing and unlawfully taking a protected animal. Full details of their escapades can be found on ABC News.
