Disneyland has confirmed that the Carnation Plaza Gardens area will close on April 30, ahead of its transformation into the new Fantasy Faire meet-and-greet location.
The closure of the Carnation Plaza Gardens will mark the end of a long-running Disneyland tradition - the swing dancing nights that are held there every Saturday. Three further events will take place, before the dance nights move to the Westside Stage in Downtown Disney.
Fantasy Faire will be themed around a village square, and will host meet-and-greets with famous princesses from Disney movies. This will include Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Mulan, Belle, Pocohontas, Jasmine, Tiana and Ariel. Three of the princesses will be present in the area at any given time.
The three final Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party events to be held at the Carnation Plaza Gardens will feature a variety of live acts, including:
- April 14 – Doc Anello & the Swing Machine
- April 21 – Stompy Jones
- April 28 – Swingtown
The bands play four or five sets from 7pm onwards, with a group of regular dancers typically in attendance. The events will continue in the new Downtown Disney location from May 5.
