Walt Disney World has released a new time-lapse video showing off the progress of construction work on the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland expansion.
The video, embedded below, shows two sections of the land that are currently undergoing significant changes. The first will become a Beauty and the Beast-themed area, dominated by a recreation of the Beast's castle as seen in the animated Disney classic. The second will house Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, a major new dark ride.
Disney recently revealed that the Fantasyland expansion won't be finished until 2014, having previously targeted a 2013 completion date. The final element is expcected to be the Snow White-themed Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster.
Some elements of the expanded Fantasyland have already opened to the public, including large parts of the new Storybook Circus area. The next major addition is expected to be Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, which is due to open in late 2012 and will be almost identical to The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure.
