Disneyland is set to welcome a new meet-and-greet character in May 2012, with Merida from Pixar's upcoming animated movie Brave joining the park's line-up.
The Orange County Register reports that Merida will begin appearances at the park a month prior to the movie's opening date on June 22. The character's meet-and-greet area will be located close to the It's a Small World attraction, and will be themed around the Scottish Highlands.
Brave will tell the story of Merida, an archer who rebels against traditional customs and becomes subject to a curse. Kelly Macdonald will voice Merida, in what will be Pixar's thirteenth animated feature film. A trailer for Brave is embedded below:
A similar Merida meet-and-greet area is expected to be installed at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, according to the report.
