Europa Park has released a video showing off the first ride on Wodan: Timbur Coaster, the new wooden roller coaster that is the park's headline new ride for 2012.
Embedded below, the video features both on- and off-ride footage of Wodan: Timbur Coaster in action as it speeds around its 3,444-feet-long circuit. The ride is the first wooden roller coaster to open at Europa Park, and hits a top speed of 62 miles per hour following its 115-feet-tall first drop.
The majority of attractions at Europa Park are built by Mack, the park's owner. However, Wodan: Timbur Coaster has been manufactured by wooden coaster specialist Great Coasters International, which has strong ties with Mack. The coaster's theme is based around Viking mythology, with the Wodan name being derived from the Germanic version of Norse god Odin.
Full details of Europa Park's new addition can be found in Theme Park Tourist's in-depth Wodan: Timbur Coaster preview.
