Rock band You Me At Six are set to release an official theme song for Thorpe Park's new roller coaster for the 2012 season, The Swarm.
Music Week reports that the band's song will be named "The Swarm", and is the result of a partnership between Thorpe Park and record label EMI Music. It will be available to download via Apple's iTunes music store.
The Swarm will be the first Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Rider roller coaster to open in the UK, and will see riders seated on "wings" on either side of its trains. It will swoop across a post-apocalyptic landscape strewn with wreckage and debris, with the ride's storyline being based around an invasion of Earth by a "swarm" of aliens.
The dark tone of the ride is seen by Thorpe Park as a good fit with You Me At Six's musical style, and the band's soundtrack is likely to feature heavily in the ride's queue line.
