Disney has released a new video which includes behind-the-scenes footage of the major refurbishment currently being carried out on Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds roller coaster.

The video, embedded below, shows off the updates being made to the interior and exterior of the ride. It also includes a discussion of the new, 3-seater bobsled vehicles that will replace the previous set. The updates are due to be completed in time for the Matterhorn to reopen in mid-June.

The Matterhorn's previous vehicles enabled two riders to sit in the same seat, which will not be possible in the new version. The trains will be similar to the vehicles used on Space Mountain at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

The coaster made its debut at Disneyland in June 14, 1959 and was inspired by the mountain of the same name in Switzerland. The Matterhorn was a first-of-its-kind attraction, being the first roller coaster to feature a continuous tubular steel track.
