Universal Studios Hollywood has released the latest in a series of teaser videos for its new attraction for 2012, Transformers: The Ride - 3D.

As with the previous videos, the fictional General Morshower acts as host. The General is part of the shadowy NEST organisation that features in the Transformers movies, and gives potential riders the low-down on the battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons. A limited amount of ride footage is shown, featuring the Bumblebee character.

Transformers: The Ride - 3D will retain the look-and-feel of the Transformers movie trilogy. A version of the attraction has already opened at Universal Studios Singapore, with the Hollywood installation expected to be largely identical.

The ride will reuse technology from the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman attraction at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure, combining 3D animation, animatronics and flight-simulator elements. It will replace the closed Backdraft and Special Effects Soundstages attractions in the Universal Studios Hollywood's Lower Lot, with construction having begun in Fall 2009.
