Disney has launched a new website dedicated to Cars Land, the Pixar-inspired expansion that is due to debut at Disney California Adventure in summer 2012.
The website features a number of new pieces of concept art, which are embedded below. These show off the overall "Route 66" theme of Cars Land, as well as its major attractions. The site also confirms that Radiator Springs Racers, the area's headline attraction, will hit a top speed of 40 mph - some 25 mph slower than Test Track at Epcot, which utilizes the same ride system.
As can be seen in concept art above, Radiator Springs Racers will wind in and out of the Cadillac Mountain Range, a sprawling set of mock peaks that are currently under construction. The ride will Disney's most expensive single attraction to date, costing around $200 million.
Cars Land's other attractions will include Luigi's Flying Tires, which marks the return of the hugely popular ride system that was used for the Flying Saucers attraction that operated at Disney from 1961 to 1966.
The area's final attraction, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, will be a variation on the classic Whip ride, which has been seen at amusement parks since the early twentieth century.
Running through the center of Cars Land will be a recreation of Route 66, which will be home to two new dining locations (Fillmore's Taste In and Flo's V8 Café) and two retail outlets (Ramone's House of Body Art and Sarge's Surplus Hut).
