LEGOLAND Germany will open a new ride on March 30, 2012 based on the LEGO Ninjago line of toys, the park has confirmed.
The German park's official website lists the new attraction, although it provides no details of what type of ride it will be. The description does confirm that it will be aimed at the park's core demographic of families with children aged 2-12, stating "Our small and tall visitors will be taken into the legendary world of LEGO Ninjago in mystical Asia."
The ride is also described as a "worldwide novelty", suggesting that it will be a first-of-its-kind attraction. Screamscape reports that it could be a family-friendly version of Gerstlauer's Sky Fly model, which sees guests soaring 72 feet into the air onboard a 12-seater gondola. By default, the gondola's seats are able to invert, but LEGOLAND Germany would be likely to disable this feature.
LEGO Ninjago is a new line of LEGO toys that was launched in 2011. Reusing elements from the previous LEGO Ninja series, it added a new set of characters known as the Skeleton Army and a range of vehicles.
