Comedy Warehouse show returns at Disney's Hollywood Studios for Christmas 2011

Comedy Warehouse show

Walt Disney World has confirmed that the Comedy Warehouse show that previously featured in Downtown Disney's Pleasure Island will be held at Disney's Hollywood Studios this Christmas.

The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special will be hosted in the ABC Sound Studio, which normally houses the seasonal Sounds Dangerous attraction. Performances are scheduled to take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 3.45pm and 4.45pm daily from December 25 through December 31.

The show was formerly held in the Comedy Warehouse club in Pleasure Island, which was demolished to make way for the planned Hyperion Wharf area. It sees comedians taking suggestions from the audience as they improvise versions of holiday classics on the spot.

Announced in November 2010, Hyperion Wharf was originally due to be completed by 2013 before Disney put the plans on hold. If built, it will replace the former Pleasure Island area, and will be designed to recreate the look and atmosphere of a 20th century port city and amusement pier.
