The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights is one again in place at Disney's Hollywood Studios, featuring more than five million multi-colored lights.
The Disney Parks Blog has posted a video of the illuminations, which is embedded below. This year's display is the first since the death of its creator, Jennings Osborne, who passed away in July 2011. In tribute to the Elvis Presley fan, the legendary star's Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane) has been added to the display's musical soundtrack.
The display was first started by Osborne in 1986, at the request of his daughter Allison. Initially located at the family's home in Little Rock, Arkansas, it grew from 1,000 lights to 3 million within the space of 7 years. This caused complaints and ultimately a legal challenge from neighbors, with Disney eventually acquiring the show and installing it at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 1995.
