The Journey into Narnia: Prince Caspian walkthrough attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios will close permanently on September 10, 2011, according to unconfirmed rumors.
Fansite Studios Central first revealed the closure date, which is yet to be verified by Disney. If true, the news would not be unexpected with Journey into Narnia: Prince Caspian having largely served its purpose of promoting the Narnia movie series.
Journey into Narnia: Prince Caspian is based in a single room at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and replaced the earlier Journey into Narnia: Creating The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2008. After a short quiz and a pre-show featuring behind the scenes footage of the making of the Narnia movies, guests watch an edited set of scenes from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. They can then view props, costumes and artwork used in the production of the film.
There have been no official hints as to what will replace the attraction if it does close. However, a similar walkthrough attraction to promote a newer movie release would represent a low-cost way of maintaining capacity at the park.
