Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed that a maze based on Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare album will feature in its Halloween Horror Nights 2011 events.
Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare will be designed to tie-in with the follow-up album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, which will be released on September 13, 2011 by Universal Music Enterprises. It will be set in the legendary rock star's mind, with Universal promising that it will feature "guillotine decapitations, electric chairs, a sadistic insane asylum, predatory snake and giant Black Widow spiders".
Cooper himself previews the horror maze in the video embedded below:
The creative director of Halloween Horror Nights, John Murdy, said of the Alice Cooper attraction: “There are few people in the entertainment business who can be called a true original. Alice Cooper is in that rare pantheon. As a life-long Alice Cooper fan who’s been motivated and inspired by his craft, I am absolutely thrilled by this incredible opportunity to collaborate with him on this new haunted attraction. It’s a nightmare come true.”
Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare is the third attraction to be announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2011 at Universal Studios Hollywood. The others are both based on horror movies - one on the upcoming remake of The Thing, and one on Eli Roth's Hostel.
Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights 2011 events are due to begin on September 23, and will run on select nights through October 31.
