Holiday World's 2012 attraction to cost $9 million?

Holiday World's new attraction for the 2012 season will cost $9 million to install, according to a report from a local radio station.

WKDQ.com quotes the figure, describing it as a "projected" cost. As reported yesterday, full details of the new addition are set to be announced by Holiday World on August 3, 2011.

If the figure is accurate, the 2012 season is likely to see the first major addition to Holiday World since the 2010 opening of the record-breaking Wildebeest waterslide. The 2011 season saw only minor additions to the park, including the Rudolph's Round-up children's ride and the opening of Safari Sam's Splashland in the Splashin' Safari water park.

2012 looks set to mark a return to the rapid expansion seen at Holiday World over the last few years, which was inspired by the leadership of the late Will Koch. This has seen the family-run park's attendance grow to over one million guests per year.
