Fantasmic set to close for refurbishment in January 2012 at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Hills Amphitheater mountain

The Fantasmic show at Disney's Hollywood Studios is set to close for 5 weeks from January 4, 2012, in order to undergo refurbishment work.

WDWMagic reports that Fantasmic will return to action on February 13, 2012. No details have been given as yet as to what work will take place during the closure period.

Fantasmic! has recently returned to a seven-nights-a-week schedule for the summer months. Showtimes are listed on the Walt Disney World website, and can also be found in the Times Guide that can be picked up at the park.

Disney's Hollywood Studios' version of Fantasmic takes place in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. The 26-minute show is "conducted" by Mickey Mouse, and features a range of water and pyrotechnic effects which are synchronized with clips from famous Disney animated movies.
