Alton Towers will host a BMX show during August 2011, offering guests the chance to see professional bike riders perform a variety of stunts.
The shows will take place at 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm and 4.30pm daily from August 1-28. The show will be included with the standard price of admission to Alton Towers, and will feature three sections that focus on different BMX skills.
The first, BMX Flatland, sees the riders performing rapid spinning combinations, some of which involve "no hands" control of the bike. BMX Jump Box involves high-speed jumps leading to backflips, front flips and other aerial acrobatics, while in MTB Trials the riders use static control to leap over obstacles over 10 feet in height.
For those hoping to become BMX stunt riders in the future, workshops will also be on offer throughout the four weeks. These will enable guests to try out some of the more basic moves under supervision from instructors.
