LEGOLAND Florida has released a range of new construction photos, showing off some of the key attractions that will form part of the park when it opens on October 15, 2011.

The photos have been released to mark 100 days until the Grand Opening of LEGOLAND Florida, which will feature more than 50 rides, shows and attractions spread across 10 themed lands. They offer the first glimpse of the many of the park's rides, which have only recently started to arrive on-site.

Attractions shown in the construction images are:

  • The Royal Joust - a simulated ride through medieval scenes on LEGO horses.
  • LEGO TECHNIC Test Track Coaster - a rethemed version of the former Jungle Coaster from LEGOLAND Windsor, which sees guests "racing" life-size LEGO TECHNIC vehicles along a wild mouse rollercoaster track.
  • Safari Trek - a car ride through a series of exotic LEGO scenes.
  • DUPLO Farm - part of the DUPLO Village area, which includes play areas and rides featuring trucks and cars.
  • Miniland USA - home to LEGO reproductions of famous landmarks including Las Vegas, New York City and Washington D.C. Florida icons such as the Kennedy Space Center and the Daytona Speedway will also be recreated.

LEGOLAND Florida will be located in Winter Haven on the site of the closed Cypress Gardens park, which was purchased by Merlin for $22.3 million in January 2010. Several areas and attractions from the Cypress Gardens park will become part of LEGOLAND Florida, although all will be extensively rethemed and updated to suit the park's target audience of families with 2-12 year-old children.
