Summer Nights 2011

Busch Gardens Tampa is set to kick off its Summer Nights 2011 events on June 11, giving the guests the chance to experience its major thrill rides in the dark.

In addition to riding rollercoasters including Sheikra, Montu and the all-new Cheetah Hunt, guests at Summer Nights will also be able to see a range of special shows and entertainment offerings. The events are due to run through to August 14, with the park closing at 9pm on Sundays through Thursdays and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Headlining the entertainment is the Kinetix show, which features live musicians, singers, dancers and artists from around the world. Performances start at 9pm each night in Gwazi Park, and feature pyrotechnic effects accompanied by diverse music.

Magician Christopher Cool will host a new show, Cool Illusions, located in the Marrakesh theater. Running Tuesdays through Sundays and on July 4, the show will be performed every hour from 5pm through 8pm.

Three DJ stations will be located in Jungala, Stanleyville and Gwazi Plaza, playing music from 5pm onwards. "Party starters" are situated near each of the DJs, kicking off line dances, breakdancing and games. On Fridays and Saturdays, they will select guests to compete in Dance-Off competitions in the Desert Grill restaurant.

To add to the excitement of riding its attractions at night, Busch Gardens Tampa will decorating many of them for the first time with strobe lights, black lights, music and other effects.
