Disney California Adventure has made several additions its World of Color show for summer 2011, including sections based on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Tangled.
World of Color made its debut at the park in June 2010, and features powerful fountains, lighting arrays and fire effects. An enormous "wall of water" acts as a projection screen for animated video footage, on which footage from the recent Disney movies is now being shown.
The full range of updates are covered in a detailed photo updated from Westcoaster, while the Pirates of the Caribbean section can be seen in the video below:
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides earned more than $400 million globally during its first week on release, including an international record of $256.3 million. However, it has performed below expectations in the US.
Disney credited World of Color's debut as being behind a 20% attendance increase at California Adventure last summer, as the company continues to try and turn around the performance of Disneyland's sister park. Further updates, including seasonal specials, are expected to be made to the show in the future.
