Busch Gardens Tampa releases point-of-view video of Cheetah Hunt rollercoaster

Busch Gardens Tampa has released an official point-of-view (POV) video of its new rollercoaster, Cheetah Hunt, ahead of its opening day on May 27, 2011.

The video, embedded below, shows a complete circuit on the Intamin-designed coaster. Themed around the speed and agility of real-life cheetahs, Cheetah Hunt features three launch sections that propel riders to speeds of 30, 60 and 40 miles per hour respectively. Its circuit also includes a 130-feet drop, banked turns, a heartline inversion and a parabola that gives riders a sensation of weightlessness ("airtime") for 3 seconds.

Alongside the new coaster, the Cheetah Run exhibit includes special viewing areas that enable guests to view the world's fastest land animals up-close. Guests wishing to learn more about the animals can access information via touchscreen computer terminals.

Busch Gardens Tampa has invested more than $20 million in building Cheetah Hunt and the accompanying Cheetah Run live animal exhibit. A review of the new coaster will be posted to Theme Park Tourist shortly after it makes its debut.
