A new preview video has been released for The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure, which will open at Disney California Adventure on June 3, 2011.

The latest preview video posted by the Disney Parks Blog is embedded below, and offers a glimpse inside the new dark ride. It features legendary Disney animators Glen Keane, Mark Henn and Andreas Deja, who played a key role in creating the characters in The Little Mermaid movie.

The video shows several of the characters that feature in the $100 million attraction, including Sebastian, Scuttle and the evil Ursula. Much of the ride's budget has been spent on animatronics to recreate the iconic characters, which will be some of the most advanced yet seen in a Disney ride.

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure will utilize an OmniMover ride system similar to that seen in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, with the clamshell-style vehicles having arrived in March. As in the Haunted Mansion, the vehicles will rotate to face the different scenes presented during the ride's circuit. These will tell the story of Disney's classic animated movie, The Little Mermaid.

Disney California Adventure's new attraction will share a grand opening date with Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at neighboring Disneyland. A near-identical version of the attraction is due to open as part of an expanded Fantasyland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in 2012, under the name Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.
