Alton Towers has confirmed that US megastars the Black Eyed Peas will perform at the park on Wednesday, July 6, in the second major concert planned for the 2011 season.
The Black Eyed Peas concert will take place at 7.30pm, meaning that guests can enjoy a full day at the theme park prior to watching the concert. The performance itself will be staged on the lawn in front of Alton Towers' gothic mansion and the park's lake.
Tickets for the event go on general sale on April 1, 2011, priced at £80. This includes 2 days entry to the theme park, with discounts available for Premium Annual Passholders. Bookings can be made online via the Alton Towers website, or by calling 08712 829202.
Alton Towers is also set to host a concert featuring pop stars JLS, McFly, The Saturdays and Eliza Doolittle on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Tickets for the Alton Towers Live concert are currently on sale, priced at £55 each.
Last year, Alton Towers hosted a concert by Pink as part of the star's Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour across the UK, as well as a special 1980s-themed event to celebrate its 30th anniversary. These were the first major concerts to be held at the park since the late nineties, with local residents having frequently clashed with management over noise concerns.
Alton Towers has promised to implement measures to improve car parking at this year's events, after major traffic jams formed following the Pink concert in 2010.
