Vast crowds have descended on the Disneyland Resort in the days following Christmas, forcing both of its theme parks to temporarily shut their gates.
The Orange County Register reports that both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure reached capacity on Tuesday (December 28), resulting in visitors being turned away. Disneyland filled up as early as 10am, with California Adventure following at 1pm. In both cases, holders of Premium Annual Passes and advance tickets were still able to enter the parks.
As in previous years, the large number of guests in the parks resulted in long waits for even minor attractions. However, Disney fans continue to be attracted to Disneyland by the resort's holiday celebrations, which include extensive light displays, Christmas makeovers for major attractions and the hugely popular "Believe in Holiday Magic" fireworks display.
Those hoping to visit Disneyland or Disney California Adventure during the holidays can check whether the gates remain open by following the official Disneyland Twitter account, or by calling 714-781-7290.
