Carowinds has announced the addition of a new fireworks show for summer 2011, which will now be known as Nights of Fire.

The park originally revealed the new show's name as Illuminations, but Screamscape reports that it was subsequently renamed due to the name already being in use for the nightly show at Walt Disney World's Epcot. Nights of Fire shows will take place nightly at 10pm from July 1 through August 7, 2011.

Also due to open at Carowinds in 2011 is a version of nighttime walk-through experience Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular. Already in place at a number of other Cedar Fair parks, the show will feature more than 1.5 million LED lights which will stretch from County Fair through to the entrance of Planet Snoopy. A custom-designed audio soundtrack will accompany the illuminations, which will operate from June 27 through August 7, 2011.
