Universal Studios Hollywood will once again base its holiday celebrations around Christmas-stealing thief the Grinch, with "Grinchmas" returning for an extended run in 2010.
The special events will take place on December 11-12 and December 18 - January 2, and will include blanketing areas of the park with fresh snow. The event is included with standard admission to Universal Studios Hollywood, and will give guests the chance to meet characters from Dr Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas - including the Grinch himself.
The centerpiece of the celebration will be a 60-foot tall "Grinchmas tree". A nightly ceremony will see the tree lit up, accompanied by a "Whoville" choir singing carols. A special holiday playground will also be set up, allowing guests to build snowmen using some of the tons of imported snow. A Christmas version of the park's Studio Tour will include sets from the blockbuster movie, with actors re-creating scenes from the film as the tour's trams pass by.
Full details of the Grinchmas 2010 event will be posted to Universal Studios Hollywood's official website, including details of dates for celebrity readings of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
