Alton Towers is preparing for the return of its popular fireworks events, which will take place on November 5, 6 and 7, 2010.
The Ultimate Fireworks event will see the park extending its opening hours until 9pm, with the fireworks display itself starting at 7pm. The event is included with the price of a standard admission ticket to Alton Towers, with a range of special offers and discounts still available. The park warns that selected rides will close at 3.30pm in order to allow preparations for the fireworks display to take place.
The Ultimate Fireworks Event will be the first to take place at the park since 2006's Electric Towers. The Alton Towers gothic mansion itself will provide the backdrop to the fireworks displays, which will the mark 30th anniversary of the theme park's opening.
The fireworks event will be the grand finale of Alton Towers' 2010 season, coming shortly after the annual Halloween Scarefest celebrations. It is not yet clear whether the fireworks will return on annual basis, or whether they are a one-off special in light of the 30th anniversary celebrations.
Previous fireworks events have been problematic for Alton Towers, which faces consistent complaints over noise from local residents. The park's idyllic location has also forced it to keep its major rollercoasters below tree level and take measures to limit noise from its attractions propagating beyond the park's walls.
Full details of the Ultimate Fireworks Event can be found on the official Alton Towers website.
