Drayton Manor is to replace its Sombreros attraction with a new ride for the 2011 season, with rumors suggesting that a new family rollercoaster could be on its way to the park.
The park's managing director, Colin Bryan, confirmed the removal of Sombreros in a September interview with Drayton Manor Plus. Now, Screamscape reports the rumor that a new Vekoma-designed coaster could be set to take its place.
Sombreros sees guests climbing into giant Mexican hats, which then spin as they rotate around a central arm. Drayton Manor has so far refused to be drawn on the nature of the replacement ride, although Bryan did confirm in the interview that it will not be a flat ride.
