Drayton Manor has revealed that the festively-themed Sleigh Ride 4D will play in the park's 4D cinema during this year's Magical Christmas celebrations.
The 9-minute film will replace Happy Feet 4D in the 152-seat theater throughout the events, which will take place from November 27, 2010 to January 2, 2011 (excluding December 24, 25 and 26). It was produced by Red Star Studios, the creators of the award winning The Curse of Skull Rock (which was shown at Drayton Manor throughout the 2009 season).
Sleigh Ride 4D is set during Christmas Eve at the North Pole, and tells the story of his reindeer Blitzen and hapless elf Bobo. The two are called into action after Santa is accidentally knocked unconscious, and must race around the world delivering presents to children everywhere.
Like Happy Feet 4D, Sleigh Ride 4D will make use of the theater's special effects, which include moving seats, spraying water, air blasts and other effects familiar from attractions such as Shrek 4D.
Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas will also see Thomas Land transformed into a "winter wonderland", featuring thousands of decorations and lights. The Fat Controller will perform musical numbers at regular intervals, while snow machines will release bursts of snow three times a day.
