Canada's Wonderland is to remove its Jet Scream attraction ahead of the 2011 season, with the ride already appearing for sale online.
The Intamin Looping Starship, which has been at the park since 1990, is being advertised on the Ital International site for $150,000. It is listed as being available from October 15, 2010 - suggesting that it could be removed ahead of the end of Canada's Wonderland's 2010 season on October 31.
Jet Scream is one of a dwindling number of Looping Starships still in operation. Resembling a classic swinging ship attraction, the ride's "ship" completes a full 360 revolution, and can leave riders suspended upside down for several seconds. Canada's Wonderland's version is currently located in the "Action Zone" area of the park.
Jet Scream will be replaced for the 2011 season by WindSeeker, a vertigo-inducing variation on the classic "Chair-O-Plane" attraction. The ride will see guests reaching speeds of up to 30 miles per hour as they swing in circles around a 301-feet-tall tower, taking in panoramic views of the park and its surroundings.
