Universal Orlando has announced the dates for the 2010 Halloween Horror Nights events, with advance tickets now available.
This year's Halloween Horror Nights - the twentieth version to be held at Universal Orlando - will take place on September 24-25 and 30, October 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 20-24 and 27-31. Due to the high volumes of guests likely to attend, buying tickets in advance is advised - with tickets now available for $74.99 via www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com.
Universal also offers "Frequent Fear Passes", which allow unlimited entry to Halloween Horror Nights on selected dates. These generally offer good value, being priced at around the same as a single ticket - though Universal is yet to confirm pricing for this year's version.
Universal Orlando is offering a "Gory Getaway" vacation package during the Horror Nights period. The deal is available from $299 per adult, and includes:
- 3 nights hotel accommodation at Universal Partner Hotel (or at on-site hotel for an additional fee)
- A 2-Day Base Ticket for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure
- Early admission to Islands of Adventure
- 1 night admission to Halloween Horror Nights
- Access to live entertainment venues at Universal CityWalk
- A souvenir photograph
A limited selection of rides operate during Halloween Horror Nights (usually a handful of headliners such as The Mummy Returns: The Ride and The Simpsons Ride), and wait times can be extremely long . In previous years, Universal has offered Halloween Express Plus passes for around $70, allowing a limited numbers of guests to skip the main queues. These are not currently available from the Universal site but could appear at a later date.
The Horror Nights see Universal dressing up areas of the park as haunted houses and "scare zones". Fans of the House of Horrors attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood will know what to expect, with real actors mingled in with the guests to create genuinely unpredictable scares.
