On Sunday, NBC broadcast a half-hour TV special on Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter - see the full video here.

The "infomercial" for the $200 million addition to Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park was warmly received by many online theme park fans, but failed to capture a mainstream audience. Just 2.6 million viewers tuned in to see behind-the-scenes footage of the Wizarding World ahead of its June 18 opening date.

The NBC special continues a long tradition of cross-promotion of theme parks by related media networks (Universal Orlando is part-owned by NBC/Universal). As long ago as 1954, Walt Disney used his Disneyland show on ABC to promote the opening of his company's first park in California.
