Universal Studios Hollywood releases teaser for King Kong 360 3-D

Universal Studios Hollywood has released a teaser trailer for King Kong 360 3-D, the upcoming addition to its famous Studio Tour.

King Kong 360 3-D will replace the previous Kong soundstage on the tour, after it was destroyed in a 2008 fire. The teaser reveals no new details about the ride, but does show that Universal is intending to market the latest Studio Tour element as a major new attraction when it opens in summer 2010.

The updated version of Kong is based on the 2005 Peter Jackson remake of the original film, and Jackson himself has been involved in its production. As with all parts of the Studio Tour, guests will remain seated on trams throughout the experience. In order to see the action, they must don 3-D glasses before the tram enters the soundstage. They will then be completely surrounded by two 180-feet-long, 40-feet-tall screens - making Kong the largest 3D attraction in the world.

Full details of Kong Kong 3-D can be found in TPT's recent news story.
