Disneyland is to add a new show based on the Princess and the Frog movie, with the film's main character, Princess Tiana, also set to join the Once Upon a Dream parade at Disneyland Paris.
A previous show inspired by the film, Tiana's Showboat Jubilee, ended its run at Disneyland when the park drained Rivers of America in order to carry out refurbishments. However, the movie's characters are set to return in a new land-based show known as Princess Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration which will be held in New Orleans Square several times a day.
The new show is expected to run from this Friday (February 5) through September 6. It will feature the Jambalaya Jazz, along with Princess Tiana and a number of dancers. The group will perform a number of songs from The Princess and the Frog while parading from the Court of Angels to the upper terrance in the front of the French Market. In addition to the new show, guests will also be able to meet Tiana at Fantasyland's Princess Faire area.
As expected, Disney will also bring The Princess and the Frog characters to Disneyland Paris to coincide with the film's European release. However, there are currently no plans to recreate the dedicated shows seen at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. Instead, Princess Tiana will appear with other Disney princesses in the park's Once Upon a Dream parade. The park will also be adding a meet-and-greet with Tiana and Prince Naveen at the Town Square gazebo.
